History of Gilbert's Furniture

Founded in 1962 by Sam Gilbert and John Buckley, Gilbert's was located at 125 South Fifth St. for twenty four years, until relocating in 1985 to their current, spacious location, 300 Penn Street in Reading, PA.

 

With the passing of Sam Gilbert in 1969, John Buckley became the sole owner. When he retired in 1994, his sons Denton and Ronald continued the tradition of a family owned and operated business. Denton's son Denny Jr. now plays an active role in the area of service and delivery and his daughter Kathlynn is also in customer service, sales & support.

This insures our commitment to quality and service, a hallmark of Gilbert's since its inception.
